Strategy Adds 250 Bitcoin

What’s going on:

Strategy bought another 250 BTC for $21.5M between October 5 and 11, paying an average of $86,194 per coin.

Its total holdings now stand at 848,250 BTC, more than 4% of Bitcoin's 21 million supply, with an average cost of $75,444 per coin.

The purchase was mostly funded by selling 125,000 new MSTR shares. Strategy also repurchased $192M of its STRC preferred stock while keeping $4.88B in reserve for dividends and interest.

What it means:

Strategy keeps using stock sales to buy Bitcoin, adding to its holdings without relying entirely on existing cash.

That creates a trade-off for shareholders: more Bitcoin per company, but also more shares outstanding. The strategy works best when Bitcoin's gains outweigh the dilution.

Watch weekly BTC purchases, new share issuance, and the cash reserve. Together, they show whether Strategy can keep buying at this pace.

Morgan Stanley Sets Tokenized Equity Timeline

What’s going on:

Morgan Stanley now expects to support tokenized equities on its alternative trading system in Q1 2027, pushing back its earlier H2 2026 target.

Amy Oldenburg, the bank's head of digital asset strategy, said the team is building the infrastructure, but client demand has yet to materialize because the product isn't available yet.

Tokenized equities are traditional shares represented on a blockchain, potentially allowing faster settlement and new ways to move or use them as collateral. The DTCC's planned tokenization service and the GENIUS Act are two developments the market is watching.

What it means:

Traditional finance is getting ready for stocks to move on-chain, but the infrastructure is arriving before the demand.

Banks want to keep trading activity within their own systems rather than lose it to crypto-native platforms. The opportunity is more efficient settlement and new uses for equities, but timelines and adoption remain uncertain.

For now, watch for actual launches, trading volume, and institutional participation. Announcements are progress, but real usage is what matters.

MSTR:
Strategy bought 250 bitcoin for $21.5 million, raising total holdings to 848,250 BTC funded mainly by stock sales.

BMNR:
Bitmine added 12,532 ETH, bringing holdings to 6.03 million tokens or 4.9% of supply with most of the position staked.

XRP:
Evernorth begins Nasdaq trading holding roughly 473 million XRP after completing its SPAC merger and naming a former Coinbase executive as investment chief.

Bitcoin is holding near $83,000 despite recent spot ETF outflows, while smaller tokens lead the bounce and total crypto market cap sits around $2.82T.

Corporate buying continues, with Strategy and Bitmine adding to their holdings as traditional banks prepare for tokenized stocks and stablecoin custody.

But there's a catch: corporate purchases have been getting smaller, and the cash reserves funding them won't last forever. If buying slows, the market could lose an important source of demand even if the long-term thesis stays intact.

The bigger trend is the move toward putting both crypto and traditional assets on shared blockchain infrastructure. Weekly flows and launch dates can change. Actual adoption is what matters.

Watch corporate purchase sizes, ETF flows, and real usage of tokenized assets. Those will tell you more than any single week's price action.
